Graig Stewart has died after being shot Monday afternoon in the Garfield Park neighborhood.
Stewart, 28, was shot in the head about 2 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of North Karlov Avenue, authorities said.
Witnesses told police they had heard gunshots, and when they looked outside they found him lying on the ground, police said.
Stewart, of the 1200 block of South Central Avenue, died at Mount Sinai Hospital at 2:29 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
An autopsy confirmed he died from a gunshot wound to the head, and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner's office.
Nobody has been charged for the killing.
Area North detectives are investigating.
