The investigation into the death of 23-year-old Quina L. Jackson inside her Chicago Lawn apartment building Friday afternoon has been reclassified as a "death investigation" after police initially considered it a homicide.

Officers were called about noon to a domestic dispute in the building in the 6300 block of South Fairfield, where they found Jackson unresponsive on a couch, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Jackson, who lived in the building, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she was pronounced dead at 1:51 p.m., authorities said.

Police did not say how she died, but initially said a homicide investigation had been launched. Final autopsy results are pending further investigation, the medical examiner’s office announced Saturday.

Late Sunday, police said the investigation had been reclassified as an "ongoing death investigation." The 34-year-old woman who had been taken into custody at the scene Friday was released without charges.
