A suspect is in custody after Corey Ferguson of Gary, Indiana, was shot to death Saturday morning in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side.
Ferguson, 32, was involved in a fight with a 55-year-old man at 10:23 a.m. in the 11200 block of South Normal, when the man pulled out a gun and shot Ferguson in the chest, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.
He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 11:16 a.m., authorities said. He lived in the 1500 block of Ralston Street in Gary.
Investigators have taken a male suspect into custody in connection with the shooting police said. Charges against him were pending Saturday.
