Tyree D. Grant was found shot to death early Friday on a sidewalk in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side.
The 23-year-old was found unresponsive on the sidewalk in the 10500 block of South Dauphin at 1:08 a.m., according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Grant, of the 100 block of West 112th Street, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the medical examiner’s office.
An autopsy found he died of five gunshot wounds to the head, and his death was ruled a homicide, authorities said.
Friends and family members are turning to social media to help solve the crime.
"The family of 23-year-old Tyree Grant is just looking for answers. They want to know why he was killed? Who's responsible? ... He had just started a new job and had enrolled at Olive Harvey College. He leaves behind a 5-year-old son and a baby boy on the way who is due in July," a posting on Facebook said.
