Najee WIlliams was found shot to death late Saturday on a sidewalk in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.
Officers responding to a call of a person shot about 10:50 p.m. in the 400 block of South Cicero found the 27-year-old lying on the sidewalk, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Police said he was 26.
Williams, who lived in the 1000 block of North Austin, was taken to Loretto Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:45 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.
An autopsy found he died of a gunshot wound to the back, and his death was ruled a homicide.
