A man has been charged with the murder of his 2-month-old son Bryson Lee Micah Holman on Saturday in the Southwest Side Ashburn neighborhood.
Brandon Holman, 34, was charged Monday with two counts of murder, according to Chicago Police.
Holman called for medical assistance for his unresponsive son at their home in the 3200 block of West 83rd Place at noon, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. The infant was pronounced dead when paramedics arrived.
Police said the boy had bruising on his arms and neck, and appeared to have been deceased for some time.
An autopsy Sunday found Bryson died of multiple injuries from abuse, and ruled his death a homicide.
DCFS also has a pending abuse investigation against the baby’s father, spokeswoman Veronica Resa said Sunday night. The agency has not had prior contact with the family, and the boy’s three siblings do not live with his father, she said.
Brandon Holman is scheduled to appear in bond court Tuesday.
