The death of a woman found more than two months ago in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side has been ruled a homicide, though authorities still don't know her name.

The woman's body was found at 6:02 a.m. Aug. 2 in the 10000 block of South LaSalle, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy did not immediately rule on cause and manner of death, but has since found that she died of a gunshot wound to the head, and ruled her death a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.

The medical examiner’s office is still trying to identify the woman. Anyone with information about her identity is asked to call (312) 666-0500.
