Elijah Terry died less than 30 minutes after being shot by another man Saturday afternoon in the Far South Side Washington Heights neighborhood.
Terry, 23, was standing outside at 3:39 p.m. in the 10100 block of South Halsted when a male suspect walked up, pulled out a gun and opened fire, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Terry was shot in the face and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 4:07 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said. He lived in the 1100 block of West 107th Place.
