Chicago Police say 22-year-old Donald Johnson was shot to death by his own father Sunday morning at his Burnside neighborhood home when they argued over who would walk the dog
The 22-year-old Johnson and his 43-year-old father shot each other about 8:20 a.m. in the 9100 block of South Woodlawn, according to Chicago Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The men had been arguing over which one was going to walk the dog when the shooting started. Both men suffered multiple gunshot wounds and were taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.
Johnson was pronounced dead there at 9:16 a.m., authorities said. His father was listed in critical condition.
Two weapons were recovered at the scene, police said.
