A man killed in a shooting that also left another critically wounded Friday evening in the Longwood Manor neighborhood on the South Side has been identified as Ulysses Pole III.
At 5:32 p.m., the men were in the 200 block of West 98th Place when someone opened fire and they were struck, according to Chicago Police.
The 27-year-old Pole was shot multiple times and took himself to Roseland Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:37 p.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in the South Side Washington Heights neighborhood.
A 26-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the right side of his abdomen, and also took himself to Roseland Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
