Quinton Flowers died nearly 7 hours after being wounded in a shooting Saturday afternoon on the block where he lived in the West Side Austin neighborhood.
Someone walked up to the 19-year-old Flowers at 1:06 p.m. in the 5400 block of West Cortez, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Flowers was shot him in the chest and body, and was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, police said.
He was pronounced dead there at 7:42 p.m., police and the medical examiner’s office said.
An autopsy Monday found he died of a massive internal hemorrhage after suffering multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide.
