At least 9 people were shot to death in Chicago last week.

NEED ID: A man was shot to death early Wednesday outside a church in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side. Officers responding to reports of a man down about 3:30 a.m. in the 6400 block of South Maryland found the man, thought to be between 40 and 50, lying on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds to the head and right side, according to police. He was dead at the scene. The body was slumped against a fence outside the Cosmopolitan Church of Prayer near 65th and Maryland. The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately known, police said.

A man was found shot to death Tuesday night in a Kenwood neighborhood building on the South Side. Deandre Smith, 28, was found unresponsive at 6:37 p.m. in a building in the 5000 block of South Drexel, according to police and the medical examiner’s office. Smith, who lived in the University Village neighborhood, had suffered gunshot wounds to his head and right side, and was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:57 p.m.

A 21-year-old man was shot to death Tuesday afternoon in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side. About 4:40 p.m., Jesus Menviola was a passenger in a car in the 1800 block of North Luna when he got into an argument with someone who was on foot, according to police and the medical examiner’s office. The person on foot took out a weapon and fired shots, striking Menviola in the head, authorities said. Menviola, who lived in the Logan Square neighborhood, was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:41 p.m.

A 32-year-old man was killed in a shooting Tuesday afternoon in the Southwest Side Ashburn neighborhood. Christopher Johnson was inside a vehicle at 2:18 p.m. in the 8100 block of South Kedzie when he was shot multiple times, according to police and the Cmedical examiner’s office. Johnson was taken in critical condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died at 2:51 p.m. He lived in the South Side Englewood neighborhood. An autopsy Wednesday found he died of multiple gunshot wounds.

A 15-year-old boy was shot to death late Monday in the West Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side. About 10:30 p.m., a white Dodge Charger was trailing a red Chevrolet Trailblazer in the 5900 block of South Pulaski when someone in the Charger fired shots, according to police. The teenager, identified as Julio Ceasar Garcia-Lara, was sitting in the back seat of the Trailblazer and was struck in the back and head. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:11 p.m., police and the medical examiner’s office said. He lived in the West Elsdon neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

A man was killed Monday night in a West Garfield Park neighborhood shooting. Officers responding to a call of shots fired about 10:15 p.m. found 39-year-old Clancy Beasley shot multiple times in a vehicle in the 4700 block of West Superior Street, according to police and the medical examiner’s office. He had suffered gunshot wounds to his head, back and arm, and was taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where he was pronounced dead at 10:17 p.m., authorities said. Beasley lived in west suburban Bellwood. Police said a suspect may have driven away from the area in a white van.

A man shot and killed the person who allegedly wounded him during an attempted robbery Monday night in the South Side Gresham neighborhood. A 39-year-old man was in the 8300 block of South Elizabeth at 8:15 p.m. when he was approached by Dana Matthews, 18, according to police and the medical examiner’s office.

Matthews shot the older man in the abdomen, but the older man returned fire, striking the alleged robber twice in the legs and twice in the neck, police said. Matthews, who lived in the Woodlawn neighborhood, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 9:09 p.m. The older man was also taken to Christ, where he was listed in serious condition, police said.

A man was killed and two teenagers wounded Monday afternoon in a Lawndale neighborhood shooting on the West Side.Bruce Crosby, 20; and a 17-year-old girl were sitting in a vehicle about 2:20 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Kildare when a dark SUV pulled up and someone inside fired shots, according to police and the medical examiner’s office.

Crosby, who lived in the same neighborhood, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died at 3:21 p.m., authorities said. The girl was shot in the abdomen and was also taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition.

A 17-year-old boy, who was standing on the sidewalk when the shooting occurred, was also shot in the head, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai in critical condition. A police source said investigators do not believe the boy was an intended target of the shooting.

NEED ID: A man was found shot to death Monday morning in the South Side Park Manor neighborhood. The man, thought to be between 18 and 22, was found in an alley in the 6800 block of South Wabash with a gunshot wound to the head, according to police. He was dead at the scene.
